Display VU during recording

How can I display the input level during record?  Surely there must be a method to do this without simultaneously recording and then playing a session.

please, look into the recorder component documentation's tutorial "How to use embedded Visual Feedbacks":

The "Feedbacks" sample project, installed by our setup package, is also a good starting point.
